Greetings from Philadelphia, PA! Wooo. I just got here a little bit ago and man is exciting! The currency exchange is crazyyyyyyy. All sorts of cultural differences here than my hometown. ….yeaaaaaa fuck all y’all who are abroad you lucky bastards….
Anyway, I’m still home and bored as hell with it. I just found out that instead of moving to a new area like North Carolina or Harrisburg, I will be here for 3 more weeks. F’in A, man.
I guess it’s a good thing though because I’ll be able to stay involved with the pretzel business a little longer. It’s going well so far…it has a few problems that we are dealing with, but nothing crazy.
My new “hobby” (besides soundkid) are these HYIP websites. HYIP stands for High Yield Investment Plan. Basically you put money into an account and you make a ridiculous amount of money off of it. This one site, you get 170% of your investment in 2 days. So I put in 500 and im gonna get 850 from it, for a gain of 350 in 2 days….not bad. The only problem is that HYIP sites last for about a month then they close. If they go down when your money is in, you are S-C-R-E-W-E-D. The trick is to get your money in and then out before they go down. Pretttty risky. So far I haven’t been burned, but that’s the risk you run for high returns. Once I’m done with this site, i’ll let you all know what I made off of it.

Oh what the fuck is up?? It’s just Doug here checkin in, letting ya guys know I made it to Jordan alright and I have yet to get blown up. London shits with Ed got messed up because the “queue” was too long for a “tube” ticket and we got a little nervous. So instead I sat in that huge ass airport with a bunch of wankers for 6 hours. Got a pint of Hoegaarden for 3.80 (pounds) at 9 am though. Bartender thought it was necessary to give me shit for my choice too. Anyway I hopped on the plane full of Arab businessmen and US security contractors and arrived in Amman.
There’s about 35 kids in the group and there seems to be a decent enough mix although I forsee some of them having a real rough time here since they know almost no Arabic. A few cuties in the group too though no real knockouts. My hotel roomie is pretty cool, he’s from San Fran! Went out to some little snack shack and got a shitload of food, including a “bebsi”, for 1.50JD (about 2 dollars). Walking around was an experience in itself though. You definitely feel like a negro in Alabama (pre-civil rights movement). Glad I’m not a girl though, it’s like walking past a perpetual line of Mexican landscapers…
Had about 9 hours of bullshit lecture on how we should try to “blend in” and “not draw attention to ourselves”. AKA be a bunch of panzy ass wallflower castrated Americans. I mean seriously how am I going to learn anything about a nation (or a national’s) identity when I’m hiding my own? Deference for foreign culture is one thing, but denial of your own is quite another. Yea so I’ll update you on more exciting shit when they let me do it…
Hiya! Well, its been about two and half weeks since I arrived in Manchester and I have had a blast. The nightlife here is awesome. Contrary to PSU style, people go out real early here (ie 730 or 8). The guys all spike there Mohawk (everyone has a Mohawk or some other metro cut) and the girls dress as slutty as possible. For instance, last night I went down to the “Bop�, which is a student bar located in one of the dorm complexes. We waited in the Queue for like half an hour, which gave me plenty of time to observe the…scenery. And much to my surprise, at least 65 % of the girls were wearing skirts or super small jean shorts. And its freezing outside! Now im not trying to say that everyone over here is a slut or anything…but it certainly appears that everyone over here is slut. I feel out of place with my stained jeans that are two sizes too big and my hoodie that smells like Tugger Toots.
Oh yea, I also got to go see The Starting Line on Thursday which was pretty sweet. I kinda wanted to go the other show down the street (The Academy Is… and Panic!At the Disco) but it was sold out before I could get tickets. So I happily settled for The Starting Line and MxPx. Then on Friday, our class took a bus tour to Liverpool to take a make-shift Beatles tour. Some of the THRILLING sites we saw…

It was quite an interesting day to say the least. I would have enjoyed it a lot more if I wasn’t so hung over and if the tour guide, who is one of our teachers, didn’t repeat so much useless information about The Beatles.

Yo kids…been some time since my last entry. Suprisingly, not much has gone on since then. New Years Eve was a good time. I drank my body weight in miller lite and welcomed the new year with a big ole hangover. Unlike my last 2 new years, I didn’t puke and make a full of myself. Little Danny is growing up.
So I started a pretzel delivery company of some sort. It’s not making a killing, but it has potential. Hopefully it grows, to the point where I could maybe do it full time. Who knows. Until then i’ll continue to make money on this paid to surf website. If you want to get in on it….you can make a lot. In two weeks, you will get 144% on whatever you invest. I made it here, finally. I finally made it to Manchester after a loooong day of waiting in airports and what not. I was up for a solid 30+ hours before I finally fell asleep in my new room. Anywho, I haven’t done much yet. I’m still waiting for other members of my group to get here and to keep me entertained. As of now, I’ve just tried to explore a little bit of the city. Things I’ve found thus far are:
1) Apparently certain places don’t serve food after 5pm
2) Showering daily is somewhat of a rarity
3) You have to pay for a grocery bag….wtf?
4) Canned beans are inexpensive in England, just like at home
5) Girls won’t do a reach-around unless you pay for it.
