So there were many bands who played a role in putting punk rock on the “mainstream” map. I think the two who played the BIGGEST part were Green Day and Blink 182. The question is, who do you like more?
A quick side note - Doesn’t Mark (lead singer of Blink182) and Billie Joe Armstrong (lead singer of Green Day) look exactly alike in those pictures? Weird.

Ugh i was sickened about 4 years ago when Green Day played before Blink 182 at the tweeter. Where’s the love? I love Blink but Green Day was more of a pioneer group.
yea dude, i agree…BUT Blink did kinda put punk rock on MTV. “What’s My Age Again” marked the downfall of boyband hell and the rise of pop punk. I don’t know if that was a good thing, but a thing nonetheless

well, i surprised myself a little bit here, i went with green day just because, as previously stated, they are more of a pioneer band and dookie is one of the greatest all time albums ever
