So I ran across a site called MyHeritage via Michelle’s Myspace Page (sorry for pimping you out michelle). The site seems to be for tracking your heritage or something, but I only wanted to use it for it’s facial recognition feature. You can upload a picture of yourself and it matches your face to celebrity faces.

I decided to take a quick (early morning) shot and see how it works. Let me just say that I am FLATTERED the software decided I look most like Fred Savage in his childhood years. Sigh.

I wasn’t happy with my first run, so I decided to try a second photo.

GREAT. This time a grown up Fred Savage. Joshua Jackson again? Sure, I wish I could play hockey like Charlie Conway, but not look like him. Is that Dakota Fanning I see in there? Are you serious?! I look like a preteenage girl? Phenomenal.

Anyway, you can check out MyHeritage.com, do your own picture and leave a link to it in the comments for all to see. The site is kind of confusing, but if I can figure it out, you can too. Good Luck.

I’m not going to go into the details of the deal as every other website does. But you can read about it on TechCrunch or ShoeMoney. Normally I try to avoid posting about stuff that is all over the place, but I have this nagging issue with this buyout that I am sure none of you care about.

So YouTube gets tons of traffic to their website. I am pretty sure (but have no facts to back this) that much of the traffic comes from myspace (people posting videos in their profile, comments, etc.) Since MySpace is owned by NewsCorp (Fox), I see no reason why they couldn’t ban posting YouTube videos in order to kill traffic to YouTube’s site. In the past they did something similar by upgrading their version of flash, which screwed up embedded videos.

Of course, this would piss off MySpace users, but then NewsCorp could push their own video sharing service on people. Either way, I’m sure with google’s backing, it isn’t going to matter if MySpace were to do this as google can drive insane amounts of traffic to anything it desires.

Oh and the acquisiton amount was 1.6 billion dollars. I’d be happy if someone were to offer me 50 for soundkid.com. Someday I’ll get my break…until then, BigplansBigcrash will continue to pay the bills (so click the ads)

Soo I’ve thrown around this idea for a new site the last few weeks and I’ve come to the conclusion that I am going to build it. I’m sure it’ll be another soundkid, actually…I would like for it to be as big as soundkid. Christ, I had close to 800 members on that badboy. People are still joining to this day.

Anyway, on to my idea. I sat down and made of list of all the things I enjoy. Music was in the top 5, so I started to think about different music sites, what they lacked, what I would use, etc. and I came up with this:

A music tour site ( can be social networking esq, but doesn’t have to be ) where you can sign up and add all of your favorite bands to your profile. Then, each band will have a current list of their tour dates on their own page. So whenever you log in, you can have a list of all of your favorite bands, when they are coming to your area, where they are playing etc. I hate having to search different bands sites, different ticket sites, different venue sites, etc. trying to find out when a good show is coming around.

In addition, people can upload things like pics, audio, video, setlists, etc. from the show they went to as well as give it a review. Each user will have a running list of shows they have gone to and shows they are going to.

I still have to work out more specifics, but I could see it growing to the point where the site could even stream live shows as they happen, but that is wayssss down the road. Any thoughts? Suggestions? Is it a terrible idea? Keep in mind the target audience is 13-21 yr olds.

That’s all I got for now. Needed to get some thoughts out of my brain and down on paper.

Hit me back.

Well it’s been a while since I posted something on here. I bet you all are craving to know what I’m up to, but first let’s observe a moment of silence for damnitvigile.com. DmV.com was a site before it’s time that the internet was not ready for, which ultimately resulted in it’s own demise. Hopefully, it pulls a JC and rises from the grave, but only time will tell.

OK so now that we have that out of the way, on to the reason you are here…to feel better about yourself by reading my lameness.

Toogar and myself started a pick-up soccer game that airs every Thursday night at 6:30 up at hoover. We figured it would be a few friends, something like 3v3 or 4v4, but the turnout has been nothing short of spectacular. Kind of a weird word, spectacular. Anyway, I’ve been spreading the word and I wouldn’t be suprised to see 25-30 people there next week. Shit, I should start my own league and charge people 30 bucks, order jerseys, give out trophies..the whole she-bang. So if you wanna play be there Thursday nights @6:30. Word.

I’ve been listening to this band called The Format a lot lately. I am really digging their style, mainly because I can’t really classify them. Plus they don’t have your typical sound that all the bands on MTV has (which is why they will never break onto that scene). They help get me through this past work week, which was pretty tough. I highly recommend you check them out soooo CLICK THE LINK

I’ve been doing a lot of life questioning lately. What I want to do with my career. Do I want to try something else. Questioning a ton of other stuff too. I need to get my shit together and move on. I think I will start next week. That was my deep moment, that is all you get.
