I spent the better part of the past weekend tearing through the latest installment in the Harry Potter series, titled “Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows”. Normally, I am not one to ruin plots and endings for people - let alone write a freaking book review - but this book blew me away. Therefore, it is my civic duty to share my thoughts on the book with BpBc reader. Hopefully, other fanatics will come forward and join the conversation. I will try to avoid the plot of the story and give anything away for those who plan on reading the book, but I can’t garauntee anything.
Proceed with caution…
So where to start? How about the beginning of the book?
The story started off like my ford focus one of those rollercoasters that go from 0 to 60 in 5 seconds. JK Rowling literally jumps right into the action, which is a breath of fresh air compared to the other stories.
Within the first 3 or 4 chapters there is a death of a prominent character. The reader can only think “Holy shit, she killed one off already? I can only imagine where this is gonna go”.
Instead of returning back to school, Harry embarks on a journey that Dumbledore left him in the previous book. While he is trying to complete this journey, the wizarding world begins to crumble at the hands of Voldemort and his followers.
Throughout Harry’s quest to defeat Voldemort, Rowling unleashed so much information - some back story and some new stuff - that I had to reread some chapters a few times just to figure out what the hell was going on. She did a fair job at addressing most of the open story lines.
The main story line that was tearing at me was Snape’s allegiance. Was he a good guy or a bad guy? I’m not going to say the answer, but I will say that you are in for a crazy ride. And when the closure comes, watch out.
Trust and allegiance were two major themes in the story. Harry is constantly torn with who trust, what to believe and how to act upon these thoughts. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be able to handle it at all, but then again, I am a cynical asshole. I found myself constantly changing my opinion throughout the book because I wasn’t sure who to believe.
Ok, So I just reread what I just wrote and decided that book reviews are not for me. I will end it with this last bit.
The story is full of twist, turns, back stories, DEATH, evil, magic, and loads of other badassery. I highly recommend this book to all of you, but try to read the other books first (even if you saw the movies, you lazy bastards).
Now all I can do is hope that JK Rowling will write prequels to the stories.
Fingers crossed.

made me sad and happy at the same time, just wait 3 years till the movie comes out.
What I liked about it was that there were several chapters that ended with me thinking “oh now it’s fucking on!” and then it just kept stacking up.
