For those of you who don’t know, I am notorious for discovering new bands in their infancy, watching them grow to MTV popularity and then hating them for their success. Some bands that have followed this path are Yellowcard, Taking Back Sunday, Cartel, The Beatles, and some others.

So now I would like to make my next ” It Band ” prediction. The band is called Blackout Band and they are going to be the next big thing. Check out their video below and you’ll see what I mean. The lead singer’s vocal abilities alone are enough to blast the band to stardom. I wouldn’t be surprised to see these talented musicians on MTV’s TRL within the next month.

Mark it down. You heard it hear first.

And some more candy for your ears.

Louie Louie

I hate you. I could only get through half the video. If “I just wanna play video games” is still stuck in my head by the time soccer starts, I’m slide tackling the shit out of you.

I know what you mean about discovering bands and following them before hating them. I’m currently in that state with Fall Out Boy as we speak. I still don’t mind Taking Back Sunday, because they never really “sold out” and dumbed down their songs, they just did bigger shows. I also followed Cartel for a while before MTV got a hold of them too. As long as Alkaline Trio and Motion City Soundtrack doesn’t sell out though, I’m good. If interested, check out “Radio,” “My Little Needle” by Alkaline, “The Future Freaks Me Out,” “Better Open the Door,” by Motion City…all of their songs are good, but these are my favorites.

Nice. I like the fact that they remade “Louie, Louie.” It’s like every high school football game…only cooler. I also like the fact that you discovered The Beatles before their era of MTV popularity…you really ARE on the ball!

i thought you were joking at first, you really think this will make mtv in a month? i’ll bet you 20 bucks it doesn’t….i’ll give it to sept. 1st. and you hate cartel and TBS? i doubt that, their success may frustrate you but you don’t hate em, right?
