The nations that comprise the G8 should absolve Africa's debt but that should be it. Direct investment (the wealthy countries loaning/giving money to the developing world) is not the answer. It hasn't worked so far so why would we increase the aid? Makes no sense. Foreign direct investment (companies investing in the individual economies of each country) is the only thing that can work. This does not mean exploitation. Countries should always select what companies will be involved responsibly. Companies should also be subject to supervision by supranational agencies.
