I stumbled across this article yesterday and it was pretty funny. The guy explains why strippers are some of the best salespeople in the world. All of his points hold true to my experiences at the tatty bar.
My favorite line is his opener:
“Like you, I like strippers.
However, I generally find myself leaving the strip club with an empty wallet. Any business that can get you to spend all of your money is a good one to be in.”
So true.
This one club I have been known to frequent, Daydreams, has a pretty unique pay structure for the girls.
When each dancer starts the night, they have to PAY THE CLUB 25 bucks. This ensures that the girls will ACTUALLY WORK since they are starting the night $25 in the hole. I think the girls might get a low salary wage…something like 5 bucks an hour - I might be wrong on this. Obviously, the majority of their take home pay comes from their private dances (supplemented by their stage dances). There livelihood, so to speak, depends on their ability to sell themselves (literally) to the drunk horny men. If they don’t sell, they could LOSE money on the night.
So a stripper is either a great saleswoman or she loses her job.
That’s the real reason I go to a strip club - for the business type atmosphere. Watching the girls bounce from guy to guy trying to make a buck blows my mind. They viciously compete with each other to dance on random guys in hopes of making more money.
Capitalism in it’s purity.

Daydreams is money. Random factory by day, strip club by night. I haven’t been there in a while, do they still do the free six pack before 11pm? Combine that with the BYOB, it’s like a classy Tattletales II
nice comparison vigile. I’ve never been inside Tattletales II, but word around town is enough to never want to set foot inside. Question: If strippers are good salesmen what do the high class clubs compare to - stockbrokers on wall street? If so, what are the ugly stripper like you would find at the Red Raven, used car salesmen?
