My buddy Brian tagged me over on his site. The laws of the Internet require that I list 5 reasons why BigPlansBigCrash exists after all of these years (since ‘02).
- The Workday Is Lame - Almost everyone gets bored at work. BpBc is an attempt to alleviate some of that boredom.
- Everyone Needs A Laugh - I find that tons of “blogs” often too personal and don’t talk to relateable topics. I try to use BpBc as a medium that is less personal and can maybe make you laugh.
- It makes me think I am more important than I really am - It’s kind of nice knowing 10 people read my stuff everyday to see what I have to say. Sadly, they are let down each day.
- The Internet can be boring - Sure sites like Digg and Reddit are cool for news that I am interested in, but where can you go to read a quality F*ck, Marry Kill or “Would You Rather“? Not many places.
- Experience - It is great experience running your own website. I’m not talking about the “writing part”, but marketing your site, search engine optimization, link exchanges, traffic stats, monetization (hopefully), etc. are all interesting pieces of a website. BpBc helps me learn these topics through experience.
So I guess now I gotta tag 5 people so they can do something similar to this. I don’t know that I have 5 friends with websites that would do it, but I am gonna go with Tim, Donny, Clare, Vigile, and Kerv. My guess is that 2 out of the 5 will actually do it. Let’s wait and see.
