Sorry for the lack of updates everyone. It’s been mad crazy at the pretzel factory and I’ve had very little time to update. I’m not happy about it either.
Here is a belated Would You Rather. Last week’s is here: Significant Other Vs Millions of People
This weeks WYR:
Would You Rather be well liked by people and have them walk all over you or have people hate, but respect you.
Personally, I would have people hate me, but respect me. It’s called being a boss. But then again, I want people to like me - just not walk over me (like Michael Scott). I’ll go with the hate and respect.

If you know me, you know my answer. Respect. I was the kind of making 15 year-old girls cry as a supervisor at Sesame Place. My favorite line was “I don’t care if you like me, just do what I tell you” (no sexual context, bc3, you perv) I can live with people hating me, I like me, thats enough. Anyways, most people are too dumb to bother talking to anyway.
answer nr. 1: First answer me this …. does a guy need to like a girl to have sex with her? If they don’t ….. Hate and respect.
answer nr. 2: Don’t really care … just know that i’d rather be looked over than overlooked.
Do I want to be feared or loved? Both. I want people to fear how much they love me.
Anna definitely has some repressed sexual urges. A guy needs respect for a girl for a relationship but not for sex. As for liking, it probably depends on the guy but I have to like the girl. I’d also have to go with option number 2 ala Anchorman.
Is this not the age old question posed by Machiavelli in his novel “The Prince”? To me, the idea is to be both. You have to find a way to be feared yet liked at the same time. Its a very fine line to walk, but you can’t be successful with just one of the options. You need to be liked by those who matter, and feared by those who don’t.
Or you could just be a Caldwell, who is hated, walked all over, and rarely given the reach-around he habitually requests.
Is this not the same issue discussed by Machiavelli’s “The Prince” in the 15th Century? In my mind, its best to have a mix of both. YOu cannot thrive being exclusively one or the other. What it comes down to is this….you need to be loved by those who matter and hated by those who don’t.
Unless of course you’re a Caldwell. Then you are hated by all, walked over by all, and repeatedly denied the reach-around you habitually request by all.
